The solutions envisaged were conditioned by this initial format: the global scale and the physical origin of the failure (the issue of greenhouse gas emissions), placing emphasis on mitigation strategies. David Demeritt shows how global warming was scientifically constructed, in a selective (social) way at the end of the 1980s, as a global atmospheric physics issue. Global warming is a very good example of complex links, which inextricably link physical and societal phenomena, and which question, by their acknowledgment, the modern separation between nature and society, as Descola also states.
